HOW TO PREP YOUR ART FILES

    Raster vs Vector

EXAMPLE OF RASTER VS. VECTOR ARTWORK

    SCREEN PRINTING:
To get the best quality on any printed material, consider how you will create the art from the beginning. Screen printing and digital printing vary considerable. Whenever possible, use vector art instead of raster. PDF or .ai files are suggested. Vector art can be created with Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw.

    DIGITAL APPAREL PRINTING:
For a digital shirt print, a hi-res jpg, pdf or Photoshop file will work. Vector artwork is also another option. Avoid lo-res artwork will appear pixelated and blurry. Avoid if at all possible.

    DIGITAL BUSINESS PRINTING:
While designing a business card, flyer, postcard or any other type of printed material, consider using Adobe InDesign or Illustrator. Any other graphics program that can create a hi-res PDF file is acceptable as well. Photos within the design must be hi-res.
